I created this website plan for Lehigh’s design 070 course: Web Design. I was introduced to Adobe XD in this class and learned to fully design a website beyond my abilities of coding it. Though I was taught CSS and how to launch the site on Github, I was never able to fully customize the eventual launched site, and thus I am showing my design on XD. I was heavily inspired by the flower market aesthetic, which itself is inspired by Matisse prints.

The prompt for the assignment was to create a site showcasing ourselves. I consider my three great loves as follows: music, exploring restaurants, and cooking (and baking too). I chose to make the site an accessible spot to find all of my recommendations. The Eat In section listed all of my favorite recipes with links and photos, as well as the ability to filter sweet versus savory options. The Tunes page had embedded Spotify playlists that had been specially curated based on mood, time of year, and more. Finally, the Eat Out section had two options to chose from: Washington, DC, the city I grew up in, or Bethlehem, PA, my lovely college town. I figured of all the people I would sent recommendations to, they’d most likely be looking for restaurants in those locations. After you selected the city of choice, you would be shown an image of my favorite dish there, told the cuisine, as well as hyperlinked to the restaurant’s menu page. I thoroughly enjoyed making the site and the process of designing with purpose. I hope to do more work with user experience and website design in the future.
